Technical Sales Representative
Isomass Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Representative for a full-time permanent position to be based in Calgary, AB, or Southern Ontario, Canada. The primary role is to lead and support sales activities for a range of products in North America. This is an exciting opportunity in which knowledge for a wide range of technologies will be acquired with full training provided. The successful candidate is expected to grow to be the lead business contact for well-defined product lines. Isomass Scientific Inc. is an independently owned company established in 1981. Our business has been built on providing superior scientific instruments, parts and services for customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain knowledge of product lines, products and related parts and consumables with a focus on process mass spectrometers and precision lapping and polishing machines.
- Generate new business.
- Maintain and expand relationship with existing clients.
- Support customer throughout the purchasing process including budgeting, developing quotations.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Canadian and US government federal and provincial (state) funding schemes, including research and industrial funding, procurement and tendering processes.
- Research into and identify new field of applications applicable to the product lines. Explore avenues to expand and establish business in relation to the products. Identify and attend key conferences and workshops.
- Develop sales strategies with product manufacturers.
- Be the main contact of clients for technical support.
- Travel up to 90% of time for sales, technical support and service visits, training and conferences.
Requirements
- Advanced diploma/degree in science or engineering. Professional registration in Canada is an asset.
- At least 3 years experience in sales, technical sales, scientific or technical roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to listen and communicate technical details clearly and concisely. Be self-motivated, conversation starter and agile.
- Excellent organizations skills, ability to work effectively and independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent negotiation skills. Attention to details, excellent numeracy skills.
- Driving license and own car and the ability to travel internationally.
- Fluency in English is required. Other spoken languages are an asset.

Salary and benefits
Starting salary will be at ~72,000 CAD/annum before tax (37.5 hours/week) but is negotiable. Benefits include a comprehensive health and dental package, car allowance, 3 weeks paid vacation, mobile phone allowance with phone bill covered, credit card allowance, laptop, all benefits arising from air travel and hotel stays, flexible working hours. Approved and relevant training and maintenance of professional registration covered. A performance-related bonus is payable.
